The Power of Thought

AA said: Ganz genau, liebe Sabina!

The Power of Thought

What you think, you become.
What you feel, you attract.
What you imagine, you create.
            Buddha

With your thoughts, feelings and imagination you create your world.  I am not only intellectually convinced that this is true; I have also experienced it in my own life.

We all know “bad days”: we already get out of our bed on the wrong foot, and then one mishap follows the other. All along we think: “what bad thing will happen next?” This negativity creates a kind of snowball effect, and you can be sure that you will spill out your coffee over important documents or stumble and fall on your way home.

Recently I had such a day – until I talked to a heart friend and everything turned around. I willingly changed my mindset, painted a smile on my face (remember? “fake it till you make it” ;-) and focused on little things that made me feel good. That day continued in a very good way :-)

Be careful of what you think and where you put your attention. Is that how you want your day to be? Is that how you want your life to be?

The Movement of Life

AA said: Tack Sabina för dina alltid så fina visdomsord så här på måndagsmorgnarna.
Man, i alla fall jag, behöver alltid bli påmind om att göra de här sakerna, som t ex den medvetna andningen.

The Movement of Life

As you breathe, think of life moving in and out of your body. Your breath refreshes and recharges your space and all your energy systems.
James van Praagh : Meditations

Most of our breathing happens automatically. Rightfully so, since breathing is what keeps us alive.

However, it is very refreshing to stop and breathe consciously. Meditation is one golden occasion, but mindful breathing can be included in your daily routines in an easier way. On a regular basis  – perhaps every time the phone rings or you open a door – just stop whatever you’re doing and follow your breath.

Breathe in, all the way down to your toes. Hold it for a second, and then slowly breathe out. Feel the breath of Life moving in and out of your body. Feel how it fills you with energy and recharges your system.

Enjoy being part of the movement of Life, where we are all connected.

Being Mirrored

Being Mirrored

To be mirrored is to be given back an image of ourselves. When we are mirrored we come into possession of ourselves in a different, more powerful way. Rather than the somewhat stuttering unsureness we often feel from knowing ourselves from the inside, we are given an outside picture that allows us to perceive ourselves with a greater sense of conviction.
Allowing yourself to be mirrored is one of the signs of loving yourself. It means that you trust in your own value enough to want people to show you yourself. It means that you want to be more – and better – than you have been in the past. It means that you’re not afraid to see your beauty, your strength, or your flaws.
So allow yourself to be mirrored. Surround yourself with people whose essence can show you back to yourself.

Accepting Openness

AA said: Vu comme ça c’est presque facile d’être malade 😉

Accepting Openness

Let your body become like open space, with plenty of room for unpleasant sensations to arise and dissolve, fade and intensify, move and change. No holding, no tension. Inhabit the sea of awareness, and let any painful sensations float in an accepting openness.
                                                           Tara Brach: Radical acceptance

Returning from a visit to Italy I brought home a heavy cold. Sigh! As much as I longed for long, wintry hikes in the freshly fallen snow up here I had to stay indoors and cure it. With the three Swedish V’s: Värme, Vila & Vänlighet; Warmth, Rest, and Kindness. No holding, no tension.

My head was aching. I had a sore throat, my nose was running, and I felt a little miserable. How silly! Even a day of sickness can be beautiful if you just accept the situation.

So I relaxed. The sun lightened my room, warm thyme tea with essential oils (tea tree, pine and peppermint) eased the throat pain and I finally got to finish off a knitted present for a friend. In the end I spent a lovely day at home, just letting the disagreeable sensations “float in accepting openness”. And being so very grateful that it was nothing worse than a cold.
