Agree With It All

Agree With It All

I do not want to refuse anything anymore. This will be the pinnacle of my spiritual quest: to agree with everything, absolutely everything that happens to me. Being free from "I want" and "I do not want" is to finally be able to dance life as it is, without tightness, without resistance, without tensions.
                                                 Anne Ducrocq

Almost every day there is something that I spontaneously don’t want. The other day it was the constant rain. I say “spontaneously”, because on second thought I realise that the rain does a lot of good to Nature, that I actually enjoy the humidity in the air, and that a day spent indoors is the perfect occasion to invite good friends for a nice meal together.

Of course, there are a lot of more “serious” things that I want or do not want, but whatever they are, they all form knots inside me. All the things I reject and all the things I crave tighten me up and make me tense. That is not how I want to live life!

I want to dance life as it is, as Anne Ducrocq so beautifully puts it. I want to relax in the stream of what happens to me, go with the flow.

To help me drop my cravings and rejections I decided to make a list. A little notebook that I carry with me, and where I note every time I want and I don’t want something. Jotting the things down I let them go and continue to dance through my day.

Sunsets and People

AA said: So will I: try my best to look others as sunsets!
Have a good week Sabina and thanks for sharing your inspiring thoughts

Sunsets and People

People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you let them be. When I look at a sunset, I don't find myself saying, "Soften the orange a bit on the right hand corner." I don't try to control a sunset. I watch with awe as it unfolds.
Carl Rogers

What a wonderful and inspiring way to look at others!

This week I will try to think “sunset” whenever I meet people. Instead of making inner comments and adjustments to their behaviour, I’ll do my best to simply watch in awe as they unfold… just like beautiful sunsets.

Seeking

AA said: J'aime beaucoup ton message du jour.

Seeking

What you seek
Is seeking you
                Rumi

There are moments in life when we are desperately seeking something. It may be a new job, house, partner, or ways to express our creativity.

Often, we are too eager and impatient to find what we’re looking for, rushing around with our eyes wide open, restless and miserable. Of course, nothing/nobody shows up…

Rumi’s words tell a universal secret: when we’re striving in a certain direction – determined, but calm - life mobilizes its forces in the same direction. So if you are seeking something: relax. That something is also seeking you. When time is ripe, you will find each other.

The Miraculous Balloon

The Miraculous Balloon

The heart is very much like a miraculous balloon. Its lightness comes from staying full.
Howard Thurman

During the warm season we relax and enjoy our days more consciously. Most of us are in vacation mode and life seems lighter and more full.
An easy-breezy summer mood fills my heart with joy and I want to spread it to people around me. Truly, the fuller my heart becomes, the lighter it gets!
On warm summer evenings I stand on my balcony, eyes closed, and I can almost feel how this light heart of mine drifts off like a Miraculous Balloon. It floats away high above the mountains, expands even more and dissolves into the all-encompassing love of the Universe.
