Changed By Love

Nothing, not even the death of those we have loved, can separate us from the love we have shared with them. For love is far stronger than death, and in the end the greatest gifts of love will be shared again and again. For more than we can imagine, we have been changed by those who have loved us, altered in every dimension, so that, in the centre of our souls, they now inhabit us, and we inhabit them.
Daphne Rose Kingma: A Garland of Love

To loose a beloved person is always difficult and sometimes hard to accept. Being surrounded and supported by near and dear ones is the best way to cope, but also the knowledge that the person we miss so much is not simply “gone”. The love we shared formed and changed us both and it will never disappear.
It is good to know that in the centre of our souls the beloved person inhabits us and we inhabit them - wherever they are now.

Gardeners of Happiness

Gardeners of Happiness

Let us be grateful to the people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.
                                                 Marcel Proust

Being grateful for the good things in our lives is one of the greatest sources of happiness. It’s a heart-warming practice to look back on your day each evening and give thanks to the universe for all the gifts you’ve given and received. Among them, the lovely encounters with people who make you happy!

They can be relatives, friends, or people we don’t actually know, like the friendly cashier in the supermarket. His smile and kind words make the day for so many! These charming “gardeners of happiness”, who spread joy to others, are so much worth our appreciation and gratefulness.

Thank you, everybody who make others smile! If you had the eyes of the Universe you would see all the souls who blossom where you pass by :-)

The Art of Consolation

The Art of Consolation

Offering yourself is itself the art of consolation. So if someone around you is suffering, give them your hand. The hand of your hand, the hand of your words, the hand of your time.
Daphne Rose Kingma: A Garland of Love

If someone around you is suffering, don’t shy away from him or her. Offer them consolation in whatever way you can. You might not know what to say or do, but you can always spend time with them. Just sit next to person who suffers, perhaps holding her hands. Often, no words are needed.

It is not easy being confronted with other peoples’ suffering. Sometimes we’re too eager to “sort things out”, trying to cheer people up or giving them what we think is good advice. However, what helps the most is simply being there for them.

Be there for the people who have a hard time. Offer them your words, your hand, your time. “Offering yourself is itself the art of consolation.”

You Never Know

A huge success might just be an empty shell, and a twisted ankle might make you rediscover a lost path. You never know what connects different things in life.
Christiane Singer

Don’t get too worked up about your successes or about what you see as difficulties or failures in your life. Nobody knows what one or the other will lead to in the end – and very often we’re in for a surprise!

So relax with the things that happen to you. Perhaps the universe has a genius MasterPlan that connects everything and what you see as a misfortune now might result in the best thing that ever happened to you.
